Erik "epitomizes lifelong learning"

Our Executive Director, Erik Clemons, came on board December 8, 2008. Erik has been a LEAP Board member for the past 3 years and has completed an internship at LEAP during his undergraduate school training. Erik is active in multiple efforts throughout the community and was recently manager of a youth employment training program within the New Haven Job Corps. He is familiar with issues specific to our children and families and to the New Haven community.

Erik is excited about "the opportunity to lead a viable organization that caters to the youth of the community." Erik consistently has made education a priority in his life, working toward higher education degrees, while juggling work and fatherly duties. We anticipate that the skillful work Mercedes Soto has accomplished will be seamlessly carried forward and that Erik will provide the leadership to carry LEAP to its next stage of community impact, making it even more viable, relevant, and visible.
